It has come to our attention that users of the Sequence Assembler demo application may encounter an issue on computers protected by Norton Internet Security.

Attempting to start this application causes Norton Internet Security to announce that the virus WS.Reputation.1 has been detected, and then quarantine this program.

This is a known issue with the Norton Internet Security product and is being investigated by Symantec - there is no virus in the download, but concerned users may wish to scan the program with their own antivirus software, or use an online service such as www.virustotal.com to confirm. If you have been affected by this issue, it is possible to un-quarantine the Sequence Assembler application using the Norton Internet Security application.

Further information is available from the Norton community site, at: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/What-is-WS-Reputation-1/m-p/228308

Symantec say they have resolved this issue.

If you still encounter this problem and are running Norton Internet Security, please run Live Update (a part of the Norton tools) to ensure your virus definitions are current.
